About our Products
What these are, and what they are not
Straight answers to the questions worth asking before you buy. Where we have not been able to confirm something, you will find us saying so rather than filling the gap with adjectives.
Are you an official or licensed brand?
No. Capybara Plush is an independent shop. Our products are not licensed by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any character, franchise, film, show, game or other toy brand.
Who are they for?
Ages 14 and over. They are collectibles, not tested children's toys.
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs. This applies to any model containing micro-beads, sewn-on details or removable accessories. Keep them away from anyone under 3, and from pets.
Are they machine washable?
Generally no, and never if the capybara is weighted. Surface-clean instead — the care instructions for the item you buy are on its own product page.
What our products are — and are not
They are
Collectible plush toys shaped like capybaras, made to be held, displayed and kept.
They are not
- Tested children's toys. We hold no age grading and no toy-safety certification for them.
- Teethers, chew toys or pet toys.
- Medical, therapeutic or wellness devices.
- Licensed or official merchandise of any character, game, film, show or brand.
- Hypoallergenic, latex-free or fragrance-free. We make no such claim, and we hold no flammability or chemical testing for them.
Choosing a size
Size is the thing worth checking twice. Photographs flatten scale, so a number on its own tells you very little.
Every product page lists the exact height of each option before you add it to the cart, in inches and centimetres. Heights are the published figures for each model and are given as a guide. Check the number against something in your own room before you order.
Photos, colours and sizes
We work hard to show our products accurately, but lifestyle photographs are for presentation only. Actual colour and finish can vary slightly from batch to batch and from how they appear on your screen.
All sizes are approximate and given for reference. Because these are soft goods, small differences in pile direction, stitching and shape occur between individual pieces. A difference of that kind is normal and is not a fault.
Safety and age guidance
Please read our full Safety & Allergy Information before handing a capybara to anyone. It covers materials, skin contact, what to do if a seam opens, and what to do if a reaction happens.
The short version
- Ages 14 and over. Not a tested children's toy.
- WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs. Applies to any model containing micro-beads, sewn-on details or removable accessories. None of them is a tested children's toy, so keep every model away from babies, toddlers and pets.
- Never cut or open a plush. Fibre fill and micro-beads are not meant to be handled loose.
- Never machine wash a weighted capybara — a soaked bead pouch can split and release micro-beads, and the beads shift inside the pouch. Surface-clean the plush only, and let it dry fully before use.
- Keep plush away from open flames, candles, cigarettes, heaters and stoves. We hold no flammability testing for them.
- Stop using it immediately if a seam opens or skin becomes red, itchy or sore.
- Remove and safely discard all packaging before handing one over. Plastic wrap, bags, ties and tag fasteners are a suffocation and choking hazard, are not part of the toy, and must be kept away from children and pets.
Materials, skin contact and allergies
Our capybaras are made from synthetic plush fabric — normally polyester — over a polyester fibre filling, with textile dyes. Depending on the model a piece may also contain micro-beads in an inner pouch, embroidered or moulded plastic features, and sewn-on details.
These materials are ordinary for plush toys, but no material is risk-free for everyone. A plush is held against the skin for long stretches, and soft goods collect dust as they age; prolonged contact can cause redness, itching or a rash in sensitive people, and rarely an allergic contact reaction.
Do not use our products if…
…you or someone in your care has a known sensitivity to polyester or other synthetic fibres, to textile dyes, or to dust. If you need to know more about the materials in one specific item before ordering, contact us and we will tell you what we know about that item.
If a skin reaction happens
Stop using it straight away, wash the area with mild soap and lukewarm water, and seek medical advice. Call 911 for any breathing difficulty or swelling of the face or mouth.
Afterwards, please let us know — we log every report we receive and look into it.
Comfort, not medical claims
Our capybaras are comfort and display items. They are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
If you have a health concern, please speak with a qualified professional. A capybara is good company, not a substitute for care.
What decides the price
Three things decide whether a plush still looks like itself in two years, and all three are invisible in a photograph.
Filling density
Under-filled plush go flat exactly where you hold them, and no amount of fluffing brings the shape back.
Pile length
Long fur brushed one way holds that direction. Short synthetic fur mats wherever it gets handled.
Seam stitching
A plush fails at a seam before it fails anywhere else. Stitched once, or stitched twice, is the difference.
We buy against that list rather than against the lowest price. Where a maker confirms those details to us, we publish them on the product page, so you can see where the money went. Where we have not been able to confirm something, we say nothing rather than fill the gap with adjectives.
Prices, availability and drops
Prices, promotions and availability can change at any time without notice. Seasonal drops are available while stocks last and may not be restocked once they sell out.
Where a price is shown as reduced, the crossed-out price is one the item was genuinely offered at previously. We do not invent former prices to make a discount look larger, and we do not publish edition sizes, production numbers or scarcity claims that we cannot stand behind.
We reserve the right to correct errors and to cancel or decline an order where necessary. For order, shipping and returns details, see our Shipping & Delivery and Returns & Refund pages.
We are an independent shop
Capybara Plush selects and sells its own range of capybara plush. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to any other brand, manufacturer, retailer, film, show, game, character or franchise.
We do not claim to be the official, original, or only seller of capybara plush. Similar products exist from other sellers; the ones we offer are simply those we have chosen and put our name to.
